A letter to my white relatives
Dear White Relatives,
This letter is not to plead for humanity. It is not to see my history as a woman and a child of immigrants. It is not to see how it feels to have your birthright citizenship up for grabs. It’s not see the impact your vote would have on my daughter’s future. This letter is to simply: wish you the fucking worst.
I hope this letter finds you poorly. I hope this letter finds you scared. I hope this letter finds you worrying if you’ll lose your job because the government has cut your funding. I hope this letter finds you worrying about your kids education ( I know it wont because you homeschool your kids). I hope this letter finds you worrying about your daughter’s health. I hope this letter finds you fucked like so many people have been and will be fucked under this administration. I hope this letter finds you, because these hands cannot. I hope this, because maybe, then MAYBE you will see the damage you’ve done. MAYBE you will feel the suffering you’ve inflicted.
But I doubt it, I doubt because one of you chose to move to a another liberal state after moving out of this one. You got to cast your vote from a safe distance, not caring how it will completely harm the disenfranchised in more restrictive states. Another one of you lives in the insulated life of a blond haired, blue eyed stay at home mom of two sons. You don’t ever have to worry about their future. Those little white boys will be fine. You..you however, you may not be so lucky. You too got to lob your vote like a molotov cocktail, uncaring or unthinking of the consequences of your actions.
May you feel the pain you’ve caused, Colossians 3:25.
Regards (barely),
Not the one.
